Why aren’t my friend requests being accepted?
This article is intended for Want Cash users, if you are a “Have Cash” user we have a different article for you – click here.
OK, you’ve filled in your details, added a photo and found some Cash Friends you like the look of and have hit the Friend button for. So why haven’t they accepted?
There are a few possibilities and a few things you can do to improve your responses.
- The Have Cash user hasn’t seen your friend request. We try really hard to get users to enable text notifications so we can drop them a text when someone friends them, but we can’t force them to. Some users simply don’t want to be texted and the only way they will see your friend request is when they next visit Cash Friend. You can see when a user last visited Cash Friend on their profile.
- The user got our notification text but for whatever reason didn’t visit Cash Friend to view it. Maybe they meant to and forgot, maybe they signed up to Cash Friend drunk and don’t remember what it is! Sorry but once again there’s nothing we can do about this. You can see when a user last visited Cash Friend on their profile.
- You can see the user has been on Cash Friend since you sent your friend request but they didn’t accept, WTF??!#*$%@
How rude of them. Sorry but not everyone is into everyone else and for whatever reason they decided you weren’t a Cash Friend they wanted to meet. Brush your pride off, hey ho it happens, their loss, onto the next. But first, is your profile good enough? Read on for some tips on what you can check…
You can think of Cash Friend in many ways as quite a lot like many of the dating apps out there. Whilst not specifically for dating, the same basic factors are at play of needing good photos and a good bio.
Lets say that again – You need good photos! You need a good profile bio!
As a Have Cash user you have all the power on Cash Friend. You’re hidden from everyone and only reveal yourself to users you like the look of. Great, but don’t let that power go to your head! You might know that you’re brilliant and perfect for them, but is your profile helping them know that?
Have Cash users have to pay us a small fee to be able to accept your friend request (its how we monetise the Cash Friend app so we can offer this service to you). On the one hand that is great for you, it filters out the time-wasters and ensures only serious users will accept your friend requests. But it also means you need to offer something they really want for them to accept your friend request. So, look at your profile again and think “is this conveying all the good stuff about me and what I can offer”?
Everyone is into different things and different people. There will be plenty of people out there who would love to accept a Friend Request from you, but they need to know what it is about you that matches what they are looking for to know that!
So, number 1 top tip, your profile photos. These will be the main thing that makes a user decide if they want to friend you and find out more. So make sure you have some good pics. Your photos need to be of you obviously, but look your best, or your coolest, your sexiest, your funniest, your silliest, your kindest, whatever it is that you think conveys the best about you.
Remember only people you friend can see your photos, so be as daring, crazy, naughty or cheeky as you wish – why not? If Have Cash users are getting multiple friend requests or are nervous about the social aspects of meeting someone new, make sure you stand out and convey as much about you as you can!
Number 2 top tip, a single photo isn’t enough. You don’t need loads of photos, but some more that convey a bit more about you really helps – a picture speaks a thousand words remember. At least one photo should be a full-length photo of you, head to feet. You may not like how you look in photos but other people will and the most common complaint we hear is that users don’t include a full-length photo with their profile. Accepting a friend request is a big step for many users, they simply won’t do it for you if they don’t see enough to feel comfortable you are a good match for them.
Number 3 top tip, your profile bio. You’ve several text boxes to tell other users about yourself. If all you’ve put is 5 words then how will someone have any idea what sort of person you are? You’re unlikely to get much interest unless you write a bit about what you can offer, what you want, what you are like.
OK, you don’t need to go overboard, some things are best left until you’ve friended and are having a chat, but give users something to help them realise you are the Cash Friend they really should hit that accept button for.
One last thing, don’t assume Cash Friends you have chosen are thinking the same as you or are just like you. One of the great things about Cash Friend is the all diverse people from different backgrounds you can meet. Try and put yourselves in a strangers shoes and think about what they might want to hear, might want to know about you. Have Cash users have their own interests, things they are here for, concerns, try to think about that and tell them why you’re someone they would feel safe with, trust, be fun, offer what they want, be someone they should want to meet.
